A zombie is a fictional undead being created through the reanimation of a human corpse. Zombies are most commonly found in horror and fantasy genre works. The term comes from Haitian folklore, where a zombie is a dead body reanimated through various methods, most commonly magic. Modern depictions of zombies do not necessarily involve magic but often invoke science fictional methods such as carriers, radiation, mental diseases, vectors, viruses, scientific accidents, etc.

Creation[]
Zombies are simply humans that were affected by an accident, which caused a spread of green haze. This green haze mutated humans into brain-seeking zombies upon contact. Due to this, all zombies are equipped with a Z-band, which sends doses of electromagnetic pulses to negate zombie behaviors, such as brain-eating. When these devices go offline, the zombies can revert to their brain eating former selves.

- All zombies in the Necrodopolis family names start with a "Z".
- Zed implies that zombies are not ageless (or, at least, are capable of aging up to maturity), and that the present day kid zombies were born the same way as normal people; he stated zombies "have families" just like humans.
- Zombies developed a language before relearning English. While (out-universe) it's clearly gibberish, in-universe humans don't understand it well. Addison attempts to say "welcome to the cafeteria" in zombie but instead says "thank you for rubbing peanut butter on my umbrella."
- Bonzo shows that some zombies can't speak English properly, but they can understand it perfectly.
- Zombies are still getting over their pyrophobia (fear of fire); though Bonzo shows he has an intense fear of even sparks from sparklers.
- So far, all zombies were shown to be very pale with green hair and permanent marking around their eyes which resemble a black eye.
- All the Zombies have a "Z" in their name probably because the word Zombies start with the letter "Z" (Examples: Bonzo, Eliza, Zed and Zoey).
- Zombies usually wear grunge styled outfits, their outfits usually have dull colors like brown, burgundy, and navy green.
- It's implied that although the zombies have to live in their own designated areas, they appear to have jobs in Seabrook. Eliza mentions in the first movie that zombies get the worst jobs. The janitor, Mr. Zeck, clearly worked at the school as a janitor prior to Z-O-M-B-I-E-S being the teacher for zombies once they were allowed to attend human high school.
- There is some kind of unnamed zombie school in Zombietown. Zed indicates in the first movie that he's excited to not have classes in a dingy basement anymore, so it probably isn't a very nice school.
