"Young, Wild, and Free Period" is the second segment of the second episode in the first season of Z-O-M-B-I-E-S: The Re-Animated Series. It is also the fourth episode of the series overall and is released on June 28, 2024 on Disney Channel.
Plot[]
Addison and Zed are in science class when a stressful Principal Lee walks in and announces their science teacher, Miss Broghon, has quit after winning the lottery. Since no other substitute teachers are available, and Principal Lee is already filling in for two teachers, she grants the class a free period, much to everyone's delight. The class is free to do whatever they like, but are prohibited from leaving campus. Addison and Zed waste no time planning their free period when they notice A-Spen, who seems to be stressed out by the pressures of high school. It gets to a point where they are on the verge of a mental breakdown. Since they have a free period, Addison and Zed decide to help A-Spen let loose.
They start their free period with a mix of wild snacks that one would not normally eat together. They ride the janitor's trolley through the hallways, and let out primal screams on the school roof, which annoys a very stressful Principal Lee. A-Spen is enjoying their free period and almost forgets about all their stress and worries. That is until their devices start reminding them they are falling behind on everything. Because of this, A-Spen falls into a literal stress spiral. Desperate to help their friend, Addison and Zed leave campus and take A-Spen to the Seabrook Pier, despite what Principal Lee said.
At the Pier, A-Spen feels much more relaxed and starts to have fun. But A-Spen quickly gets carried away with cutting loose and gets stuck on a Ferris wheel. Addison and Zed hurry to save them, only for Principal Lee, who caught them leaving campus and followed them, to show up. She is furious with the two for leaving campus, and hysteric of the situation A-Spen is in. Addison stops the Ferris wheel and Zed uses his zombie ability and strength to get A-Spen down. A-Spen thanks Addison and Zed for saving them, and while they found cutting lose amazing they also found it nauseating. They also decide from then on that they will always find time to relax. Even though all is well, Principal Lee is still mad at them for their irresponsible behaviour and feels even more stressed than ever. Addison, Zed, and A-Spen suggest she lets herself wind down by joining them for some fun and relaxation at the pier. She is reluctant but accepts their proposal.
The four of them spend the rest of their free period hanging out at the pier having fun. Even Principal Lee enjoys herself and feels more relaxed than before. But she still punishes Addison, Zed, and A-Spen for leaving campus by giving them a week's detention.
